Barlow Elected President Nominee of the Rotary Club of Downtown Wilmington

Interim Vice Provost Cathy Barlow has been elected president nominee of the Rotary Club of Downtown Wilmington. She will take office July 1, 2018.
Barlow has been a Rotarian for the past 12 years. During that time, she has served in several capacities, including Rotary board member and club historian/liaison to the Herman Blizzard Rotary Archives housed at UNCW. She has also served on several committees and is an advisor to the UNCW chapter of the Rotaract Club along with Elaine Andrews, an accounting instructor in the Cameron School of Business.
“We are a civic club that takes service to heart,” Barlow said. “We do so much in the community as well as internationally. I want to continue that and have each Rotarian touch a life and make a difference.”
The Downtown Rotary, founded in 1915, is the oldest and largest civic organization in southeastern North Carolina. The organization is involved in numerous community service projects including the Legacy Project, a partnership with Wilmington’s Williston Middle School; assistance for adult literacy tutoring through the Cape Fear Literacy Council….
